If there was a message of consequence, then it must be in the choice of two endings, which imply that the story is about fate and the will of the gods.

Lacking a protagonist, perhaps the moonworts are the main character. They are granted immunity from life&#039;s tragedies. Like the Oracle at Delphi, they operate beyond the sphere of mortals. Could the story be about how distraction from the true path leads to misanthrope and mendacity, even as life explodes in mystery?

I am holding out to see how the sacred cows play into this.]]></description>
